Masonic Temple Building in Littleton, New Hampshire

As part of our Building History series, we take a look at the Masonic Temple which is located in Littleton, New Hampshire:

“On June 8,1909, with elaborate pageantry, citizens celebrated the dedication of the restrained example of Beaux Arts Classicism. Unique among Maine Street’s surviving structures are the imposing paired pilasters, rusticated masonry and parapet roof. The symmetrical edifice arose on the site of the Union House, the town’s first tavern and inn. Erected by the Littleton Masonic Temple Building Association to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the chartering of the Burns Lodge of Masons, it generously hosts related fraternal organizations and community endeavors.”
