The Portland Press Herald today announced that they will have a new monthly feature of a different Maine town. From the story:

Today, MaineToday Media launches “Maine Streets,” a monthly series that will appear in the Maine Sunday Telegram.

Each month, a different reporter will take an in-depth look at a town or city around the state. Staff Writer Kelley Bouchard kicks off the series today with her look at the town of Kittery.

The series will give readers nuts-and-bolts information, while at the same time answering the question: What makes our towns and cities unique? It will be told with words, photographs, graphics, videos and interactive online tools.

Today’s featured town is Kittery, Maine.┬áUnfortunately, we don’t have a town picture gallery of Kittery yet . . . guess we will need to put it at the top of our list čÖé From the picture above, Kittery is home to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Here are the links to the stories about Kittery:

We already look forward to next month’s installment and, of course, we hope they profile a few historical buildings in each town. ┬áThe architectural history of a town can also tell you a lot about the overall history of the town and its people. Yet, while people come and go, building can last for generations.
